Homemade Ice Cream Popsicle Shop
Located on 市上街, 清凉风屋 is run by an elderly couple. Reputed around town as one of the best places to get popsicles, tourists and locals alike are regular customers. Tourists will sit at the small table and eat popsicle after popsicle, like a frozen buffet of sorts. And I've seen people just come up and order 10 of each flavor, walking away with bulging bags swinging from each arm.
The woman gets up early every morning for the freshest milk straight from the farms. She has been working here for 32 years already, but only opens shop in the hottest months of the year. 400 popsicles are painstakingly homemade every single day. So appreciate it!
They offer popsicles in many different flavors. However, do not count on each flavor being there all the time.

Of course, you can also get popsicles from all the ice cream stands at convenience stores. There are the factory-made, artificial popsicles that you get all over the country. Then there are homemade yak milk popsicles, and also factory made milk/yak milk popsicles you won't get anywhere else. One last specialty is ice shavings (刨冰), with rectangular jello pieces and secret sauce drizzled on top. Sound good?
